Dr. Margaret Domka is a Co-Founder and the Executive Director of USC-MHS and is passionate about changing sport culture to make it okay to talk about mental health while still striving to be the best version of ourselves both on and off the field or court. She also carries out research at the intersection of mental health and sport. She is a major contributor to a team recently receiving a $500,00 SAMHSA grant to bring mental health awareness certification and additional mental health initiatives to sport organizations in Upstate South Carolina. Additionally, she has done work in bringing mental health and sport initiatives to Veterans, individuals with paralysis, and Paralympic athletes. She is an ACT! Mental Health Awareness Certification and Mental Health First Aid instructor and holds the International Olympic Committee’s Certificate on Mental Health in Elite Sport. Margaret is also a former FIFA Women's World Cup referee and served on the USA panel of FIFA referees for 10 years. She continues to referee for the International Blind Soccer Association, the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football, and Special Olympics.
