An event every week that begins at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until May 24, 2022
The USC-MHS is offering a 4-week, 1-hour-per-week, opportunity for coaches to talk about how to best protect their own mental health and that of their athletes. The dates of the series are May 3, 10, 17 & 24.
The rates of mental health disorders are on the rise across the United States for both adults and youth. Coaches are important role models to their athletes, but mental health challenges, whether faced by the coach or their athlete(s), can present challenges for how to continue leading effectively.
The purpose of these sessions is to create a comfortable space for coaches to learn more about mental health, how it can affect the role of a coach, and strategies to provide opportunities for themselves and their athletes to experience optimum mental wellbeing. Participating coaches will be encouraged to share their experiences and contribute to conversations as the group seeks solutions to common challenges related to mental health.
This program is being offered free of charge to coaches, but as spaces are limited, we kindly ask that if you register, you commit to all four 1-hour sessions.
The program will be capped at 18 participants — please sign up right away to ensure you get a spot!
