Dr. Peets is a mental health researcher and consultant. She earned her doctorate from Penn State University in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management where, her dissertation focused on the mental health literacy of Black coaches in Youth Sport. Dr. Peets’s research interests include mental health literacy and awareness, diversity, inclusion, equity, holistic health through sport and fitness, and Black travel and tourism. She is also a licensed associate professional counselor with clinical experience as a mental health provider in various settings. Her mission statement is to positively change perceptions and world views through proper exposure and education that transcends tradition and generational limitations. Dr. Peets does not believe in restrictive practices and the status quo. Change is inevitable and should always be the goal when fighting for justice and equality.
