This 1-hour webinar is sponsored by WCC and provided by the U.S. Center for Mental Health & Sport is for the intended target audience of athletics coaches, staff, and administrators from all member institutions of WCC. Sports gambling and wagering is a prevalent trend that coaches, staff, administrators, and our athletes must understand how to navigate in order to mitigate risks. These risks may be from direct participation in sports wagering or from others trying to gain beneficial "insider" information. Dr. Lia Nower, a leading expert in the field who directs the Rutgers Center for Gambling Studies, will share information to increase awareness about the risks associated with gambling, information about action steps that can be taken to avoid risks, and resources that can be utilized for assistance when needed. The webinar will also provide insight into the connection between sports gambling and mental health.
Athletics administrators, staff, and coaches from WCC institutions are welcome to attend.
We look forward to seeing you there!
